    Early Years

    Ronaldinho was born on 21 March 1980 in the city of Porto Alegre, the state capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Ronaldinho’s football skills began to blossom at the age of eight, and he was first given the nickname Ronaldinho—inho, meaning 'small'—because he was often the youngest and the smallest player in youth club matches. He developed an interest in futsal and beach football, which later expanded to organized football. Many of his signature moves originate from futsal, especially his ball control. His first brush with the media came at the age of 13, when he scored all 23 goals in a 23–0 victory against a local team. Ronaldinho was identified as a rising star at the 1997 U-17 World Championship in Egypt, in which he scored two goals on penalty kicks.

    On 19 July 2003, Ronaldinho moved to La Liga giants FC Barcelona for €25 million, signing a five-year contract, and making his debut at Barcelona's home stadium, the Camp Nou.In the 2003-04 season, Ronaldinho made 45 appearances for the team, scoring 22 goals and assisting 11.On 22 December 2004, Ronaldinho was named the 2004 World Footballer of the Year. Ronaldinho was named World Footballer of the Year 2004.
    On 20 November 2004, Ronaldinho scored a 77th-minute goal to seal Barcelona's 3-0 victory over Real Madrid, and in the 2004-05 season, he made 35 appearances in La Liga, scoring 9 goals and assisting 10, helping the team regain the La Liga title after a six-year hiatus.

    On 29 November 2005, Ronaldinho won the 2005 European Ballon d'Or over Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in the Ballon d'Or competition, making it a grand slam of honours for Ronaldinho, who was crowned World Footballer of the Year on 20 December at the Zurich Opera House. ‘On 20 December, Ronaldinho was crowned World Footballer of the Year at the Zurich Opera House.
    On 20 November 2005, Ronaldinho scored twice in Barcelona's 3-0 victory over Real Madrid in the 12th round of La Liga, with the 80,000 spectators at the Bernabeu Stadium applauding him after he scored the second goal. 17 May 2006, Ronaldinho helped Barcelona win the Champions League with a 2-1 victory over Arsenal. In the 2005-06 season, Ronaldinho made 45 appearances in all competitions, contributing 26 goals and 24 assists, and was named European Club Player of the Season and La Liga Player of the Season that season.

    In the 2006-07 season, Ronaldinho played 49 games for Barcelona, scoring 24 goals and assisting 14 times. With 76 points, Barcelona were defeated by Real Madrid in the win/loss ratio and ended up as runners-up.
    In the 2007-08 season, Ronaldinho's form was very low due to injuries and personal life reasons. He played 26 matches in all competitions, scoring only 9 goals and assisting 5 times. The season is also Ronaldinho in Barcelona's last season. During his time with Barcelona, Ronaldinho made 207 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 94 goals and contributing 61 assists, helping the team win two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles and one Champions League title.

    On 15 July 2008, Ronaldinho moved from Barcelona to AC Milan in Serie A for a transfer fee of 21 million euros. 
    On 28 September, Ronaldinho scored the only goal of the match in the 5th round of Serie A in AC Milan's match against Inter Milan, which was also Ronaldinho's first goal since joining AC Milan. That season, Ronaldinho made 36 appearances for AC Milan in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and assisting 6 times. 
    On 10 January 2010, AC Milan beat Juventus 3-0 in the 19th round of the Serie A. The goal was scored by Ronaldinho. On 17 January, Ronaldinho scored a hat-trick in AC Milan's league match against Siena.
